Astro TurfMy husband loves football and, as well as watching every game he can, he plays football every week at the local
Astro Turf pitch. He only plays five a side football but he loves playing to keep fit and, because the pitch is made of
Astro Turf, this means that he and his team mates can play throughout the year. However, playing on
Astro Turf is not as kind to the skin as grass can be and he often comes home covered in bruises and scrapes. He does love his night out playing with the lads though and I do think it is good for him to have some male company and keep relatively fit at the same time. Every week they play for an hour and then they shower and change and go to the local pub. As you can imagine, sometimes this turns out to be quite a raucous night and often he will come home not just covered in scrapes but decidedly unsteady on his feet! It is a very good social outlet for him though and the football team are now organising a social event for Christmas where wives are included. I am really looking forward to meeting all of his friends.
